Polar introduces the Polar Loop Armband: the screen-free fitness band sits on the upper arm for training, joined by new silicone and leather wristbands.

In short

  • Since 7 October 2026 the Polar Loop Armband lets you wear the screen-free fitness band Polar Loop on the upper arm instead of the wrist.
  • On the upper arm the band stays stable during intense sessions and delivers reliable heart rate data, while the wrist stays free for dumbbells, rackets and grips.
  • Also new are a reversible magnetic silicone band and a band in vegetable-tanned leather; everything is available worldwide at polar.com and in stores.

A new place for the fitness band

Anyone who trains with dumbbells or holds a racket knows the problem: on the wrist a tracker gets in the way, shifts when you grip and produces jumpy readings exactly when the effort peaks. Polar now has a simple answer. The Finnish maker, which has been developing sports and fitness technology for nearly 50 years, introduced the Polar Loop Armband on 7 October 2026. With this accessory the screen-free fitness band Polar Loop moves from the wrist to the upper arm.

The armband is made from a soft, elastic textile and wraps securely and comfortably around the upper arm. That way heart rate and activity keep being recorded even when a workout gets properly intense.

A stable fit, reliable heart rate

On the upper arm Polar Loop stays in place through sets, sprints and reps without slipping or bouncing, which benefits heart rate tracking. Polar names weightlifting, tennis, padel and HIIT as sports where the upper arm suits better than the wrist: there a device can get in the way, and movement or a firm grip can interfere with the reading.

“Our users have been asking for an armband option, and training is a big reason why. It's the flexibility our community wanted, built for the way they actually train.”

Sanna Meriö, Product Business Manager at Polar

For your own training that is a real gain. In intervals and strength blocks especially, a clean heart rate curve helps you judge load and recovery correctly, for example to hit your own heart rate zones. If you train by zones, gevitry has the matching calculator.

New bands for every day

The armband comes with a new collection of wristbands for everyday wear. The magnetic silicone band is soft, goes on quickly with its magnetic closure and is easy to adjust. It is reversible in two colours, so it offers two looks in one, and its water-resistant material suits daily life as well as exercise. The pack includes two bands in sizes Small and Medium and fits S to M wrists.

For a more refined look there is the new leather band in genuine vegetable-tanned leather with a soft nubuck lining. It lets Polar Loop go from the office to evenings and special occasions.

Availability

The Polar Loop Armband has been available worldwide since 7 October 2026 at polar.com and from selected retail partners. The new wristbands launched globally on the same day, sold separately or bundled with a Polar Loop. That turns an everyday band into a companion that goes from strength training to dinner, always worn where it fits best.
